The hotel offers 337 extra-large guestrooms and penthouse suites in two 12-story white towers with terra-cotta-colored tile roofs and bright yellow or purple accents.
One tower houses deluxe rooms without balconies but with floor-to-ceiling windows providing views of Banderas Bay. Two-story penthouse master suites with huge balconies are located atop this tower. Tropical decor in all rooms and suites includes textured white walls and ceilings, pale floors, and richly colored fabrics.
The other tower houses Camino Real Club rooms, which have ocean-view balconies; ceiling fans and air conditioning; special amenities such as bathrobes and slippers; exclusive concierge check-in and services; complimentary Continental breakfast served on an isolated, exclusive, ocean-view terrace (or in tower's lobby, depending on weather); and complimentary evening hot-and-cold appetizers and cocktails served in the lobby.
Dining
Maria Bonita - Colorful, air-conditioned restaurant with sections featuring decor from three Mexican states. Mexican cuisine, 200 tequilas. Main courses include Beer-marinated Chicken, 39-inch Beef Tenderloin for Two, Lobster Tacos, grilled items. Live music three nights weekly.
La Finestra - Intimate, air-conditioned, ocean-view restaurant with domed ceiling, candlelight, piano music, carpet, red-and-white linens. Italian menu.
Azulejos 
Oceanfront, open-air, linen-service restaurant with seating under wood ceiling and at umbrella tables. Buffet and à la carte breakfasts, lunches and dinners.
La Brisa - Beachfront, open-air, linen-service restaurant under peaked thatch roof.
Lobby Bar - Open-air spot offering sunset and ocean views. Seating on wood floor under wood-beam ceiling and on terrace. Live music nightly.

A large freeform pool (heated in winter) features a small children's section and a swim-up bar. A second, unheated, "quiet" pool lies among tall trees. Pool sundecks have padded lounge chairs and umbrellas. Inaccessible to the public, the beach fronting the hotel extends 400 yards between rock cliffs and is usually washed by low surf.
An air-conditioned, glass-wall, ocean-view fitness center contains cardio and weight machines as well as free weights. Massage is available in guest accommodations and in an oceanfront tent. Shops sell jewelry, resort wear and beachwear, and gifts and sundries. A nurse and doctor are available during the day, with the doctor on call around the clock. The hotel purifies its water.
The hotel's water sports desk rents personal watercraft, boogie boards, kayaks, snorkeling gear, and floats. Scuba-diving lessons are conducted in the pool (surcharges), and scuba-diving, snorkeling, and fishing trips can be arranged.
