Waikoloa Beach Marriott is located on 15 oceanfront acres with sweeping vistas of Anaehoomalu Bay. The resort offers a gracious look, style and service of Hawaii's golden past.
Situated on 15 acres, the resort is compact enough for families to easily get around, with the pool complex centrally located from both wings of the hotel. Casual relaxation is the theme. A children's program frees adults for golf, tennis on the resort's six courts, and pampering at a full-service beauty salon/health spa.
Amenity highlights: From the pool complex that contains a water slide, kiddies' sand-bottom wading-pool, and two spas, it's a short, fascinating walk to the beach on Anaehoomalu Bay (A-Bay). Anaehoomalu means "protected mullet," a reference to the ancient fish ponds in which prized fish such as mullet would enter the ponds through screens, grow too large to return to the ocean, and be preserved for Hawaiian nobility. Paths wind through rough lava rock, which contains petroglyphs, and bridges span the ponds for beach access.
The expansive beach is located on a calm bay, shaded by coconut trees. A beach-activities center rents out snorkel sets, kayaks, boogie boards, and pedal boats and arranges glass-bottom-boat, scuba-diving, and snorkeling excursions.
Insider tip: Across the street is an upscale shopping/dining center, Kings' Shops. Many of the restaurants offer signing privileges to the Waikoloa Beach Marriott. Next to this shopping center is a gazebo with a telescope offering views of Mauna Kea's summit, where the world's largest telescope can be seen.
The hotel comprises 545 rooms in two six-story wings. Between the lobby building and the pool complex is a sunning lawn and a magnificent grove of lauhala trees with their distinctive above-ground roots. Among the resort's facilities is the Hawaiian Rainforest Salon & Spa, which faces soothing koi ponds. The Cowabunga Kids Club provides games, sports, and activities for children ages 5–12. Other amenities include a shopping arcade, business services, and a fitness center. High-speed Interent access is available (surcharge).
Waikoloa Keiki Club Children's Program – Available for children ages 5–13, this activities program features morning, afternoon, and full-day sessions and requires advance reservations with the hotel.
