Hilton Waikola Village Property

Transportation throughout the resort is via mahogany canal boats or sleek Swiss-made trams. The resort also features the Dolphin Quest encounter program, and offers 25,000 square feet of shopping space and a full European Spa Complex.

Guests can enjoy 62 oceanfront acres of hidden tropical grottos, cascading waterfalls and exotic wildlife. The property blends the best in contemporary facilities with graceful Hawaiian culture.

Water, water everywhere—a tropical lagoon, koi ponds, swimming pools, waterfalls, canals, and spas. This self-contained vacation village (population 3,000), is crisscrossed by flagstone paths with numerous bridges spanning lots of water. Lush grounds encompass both a $7 million art walk and botanical gardens.

Amenity highlights: Dolphin Quest Learning Lagoon offers guests an opportunity to take part in a supervised dolphin encounter.

The resort's ocean beach is rocky so the Village provides an alternative in the form of a four-acre saltwater lagoon with its own sand beach and waterfalls. Open to the sea, the lagoon permits fish and turtles to come and go, and provides excellent flat-water snorkeling.

Two major freshwater pool complexes include water slides and a third pool is adults-only. It's surrounded by padded lounge chairs and silence.

Insider tip: At Waikoloa Beach Resort's upscale shopping/dining center, Kings' Shops (a 5-minute drive from the Village), a telescope is located in a gazebo above a lake bordering the center and offers a view of Mauna Kea's summit, where the world's largest telescope can be seen.

Kohala Sports Club & Spa is a full-service health, beauty, and fitness center, plus offers physical training and eco-tours like bird-watching and a waterfall hike.

Camp Menehune provides games, sports, and activities for children ages 5–12, with half-day, full-day, and evening sessions available.

The Village contains a, 1,800-piece collection of Asian, Western, and Oceanic art. An illustrated booklet permits self-guided tours, with three walks and two side trips described.

The Red Sail Sports desk arranges snorkeling, whale-watching, and sunset cruises aboard a 50-foot catamaran and scuba-diving excursions aboard a 38-foot motor boat.

Other amenities include an arcade of smart shops; a lending library of books, toys, and games; and a full-service business center.
